Kingston Teachers’ Federation Keeps Promises

Joseph Fiegoli is president of National Health Administrators, Inc., in Peekskill, New York, and an advocate of quality healthcare in the state. In 2005, Joseph Fiegoli presented a plan for healthcare to the Kingston Teachers’ Federation with a vision to provide them with the highest coverage and compensation levels.

With the help of Mr. Fiegoli, the Kingston Teachers’ Federation overcame a number of challenges and developed a way to provide teachers with self-insurance in the face of a zero salary increase and 25 percent contribution to their health insurance. National Health Administrators’ plan was the only proposal that accounted for mandated coverage for newborns as well as those with mental health conditions.

The federation updated the plan during the past ten years, and the contract continues to evolve to fit the needs of the teachers. The most recent version of the contract features a zero-increase in premiums and a rebate of more than $1 million over the next three years. In addition, Mr. Fiegoli provides a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior.
